Climate change and global warming are real and they pose an existential threat to all life on earth. We have to reduce our carbon footprint, and the only technology currently available to help us achieve that goal is electrification through the use of lithium-ion batteries. While we have to embrace the technology, we also have to acknowledge that when evaluated on a lifecycle basis, lithium-ion batteries have social justice and environmental justice issues for Native Americans and indigenous people around the world.
